Youth Mission Trip to New York City
St.
Mary’s Youth Ministry along with St. Peter’s will be taking their 3rd
Mission
Trip on Sunday, August 9th through Thursday August
13, 2009. This trip is coordinated through an organization called
Y.S.O.P.
(Youth Opportunities Service Project) this is an intensive work camp which will
help
you to understand service and homelessness by preparing and serving meals at
soup kitchens, food banks, clothing banks and other projects.
We will leave by bus on
Sunday around 2:00pm and head to the Park Ave.
Christian Church which we will call home for the next few days. We will bring
air mattresses and bedding as we will be sleeping on the floor.
During the day we will
report to various pre-determined locations to do our service.
Most days we will travel by subway or city bus. Each group will consist of 1-2
chaperones and 4-5 teens.
Please let me know if you
would like to join us for this wonderful experience.
This trip is limited to 10 participants and the fee is $300 before fund
raising.
A deposit of $42 will hold your spot and also cover the Broadway Show Tickets
for Billy Elliot which we will attend on the last night.
There will be a Parent &
Teen Meeting for all those who are going on the trip on
Tuesday, July 7th at 7:00 pm in the Sacred Heart Hall.

Youth Gatherings
All Friday Night Meetings will start with games on the lawn
in front of the Sacred Heart Hall from 7-8pm,
Youth Meeting to follow in the Sacred Heart Hall from 8-8:30pm.
All are asked to stay for the whole evening (7:00-8:30pm)
